Whatever the nature of the assignment, JDP approaches each instruction
with the same degree of commitment and integrity. Each assignment is led
by a director, who will supervise a team and ensure adherence to the following
process:
- Introductory consultation
In this preliminary meeting, an evaluation of
the client’s specific
requirements is carried out. We will advise as to whether search
is the most appropriate way forward in a given instance and on the
feasibility of the
proposed assignment.
- Preparation of assignment brief
In consultation with client management,
partners or other key executives, an assignment brief is prepared to define
the parameters of the
appointment. This will denote scope and responsibilities, the remuneration
package as
well as the background and experience of the ideal candidate. Once
the brief has been approved by the client, it may be shared with
the candidate.
- Research
In each assignment undertaken, at least one director and several
researchers will work as part of a team to ensure the best possible
result for the client.
Our endeavours are aimed at identification of the
candidates whose qualifications,
experience and track record most closely match the assignment brief.
We draw upon knowledge gleaned from previous projects, research and
contacts, together
with sources in the appropriate sector. This information is collated
in report format for presentation to the client.
- Approaches and screening of prospective candidates
Following consultation
with the client, a director will make the initial approach to the candidates
on the agreed shortlist and arrange
meetings where appropriate. The objective of this stage of the process
is an appraisal of
each candidate and the preparation of a career profile of those
lawyers whom the client will be advised to meet.
- Candidate introduction and assignment closure
Meetings will be arranged
between the client and the candidate. JDP will liaise with all parties
at every stage from introduction through
to negotiation and acceptance of the offer.
It is our policy to maintain
close and ongoing contact with both clients and candidates.
